The TRUTH about "Perfect Skin" and How to Get It
There is no such thing as "Perfect Skin". I am sorry, but it's the truth. Perfect skin does not exist because everyone has their own definition of perfect (also everyone gets pimples). Now, this is not me saying that there isn't a way to help your skin because there are many ways to help clear up your face, some of which I will be sharing with you guys today. But, keep in mind that everyone has different skin and some of these things you might have already tried, but they work like a charm.
1. Lemon Water
I know, I know! You have probably tried to drink more water to clear your skin already and it hasn't been working. But don't disregard your water intake. Water is essential to clearing up skin, but try drink lemon water every morning before you eat, and every night after your finished eating. Squeeze a full lemon into a glass and fill the rest up with warm water. Not only will this boost your immune system, and help you with digestion (the more you poop, the less you gloop), but it helps to clear and brighten the skin so you have a natural glow (Fenty, who? Nah, that's just HYDRATION).
2. Don't Overdue It With The Cleansers/Scrubs/Masks/etc.
Building a skincare routine is important when trying to maintain a clean face, but overdoing it with a bunch of products and washing your face all the time, could be the main reason for your breakouts. I have found that washing your face 2 times a day is the most irritating thing you could possibly do for your skin. I am no expert but from years of trial and error, I have found that using a cleanser, cold water, a serum and moisturizer at NIGHT TIME ONLY is key. When I wake up in the morning I just rub some water on my face, put some moisturizer on, and I am off. I use a scrub 1-2 times per week, and a face mask once per week. If you do those things more often, they're more likely to irritate the skin and give you the exact opposite effect you want.
3. Get a Silk Pillowcase
This will help you with your skin problems and your bed head problems. Getting a silk pillowcase was the best decision I could have possibly made for my skin and hair. Silk pillowcases are mental on the hair and face, and don't absorb bacteria like other pillowcases do. It also helps you skin to retain it's natural moisture, which goes back to not washing your face with a cleanser in the morning. You want your skin to retain those natural oils in order to help the blemishes GTFO
4. WATCH THE FOOD YOU EAT
I can't stress this one enough. If you put unhealthy foods into your system, it will show. If you want to start to clear your face, look at what foods your putting into your body. There are good foods that are healthy for you. Some foods that are great to have to clear the skin are Almonds, Avocados, Strawberries, Kale, Sunflower Seeds, and Cucumbers. Some of these you have to be careful not to eat too much of because that can end up giving you the opposite effect as well. But if you eat the foods in moderation, you'll be on your way to flawless skin in no time.
5. Don't Touch Your Face
TRUST ME! I still struggle with this step all the time. It's so gross, but I love popping pimples. But, if it's not done the correct way, it could cause more damage than you think. So please, just be patient. I know it's hard, but naturally the pimple should go away in a day or two if left untouched.
6. Make Sure What You're Using is Right for YOUR skin
Just because you see your favorite celebrity or Youtuber using a certain skin product, doesn't mean it's right for you. There is no harm in trial and error, and that what I did for a while before i found exactly what worked for me. But all the products I use are Drugstore products. Remember, you don't have to spend hundreds of dollars on Skin Care. Drugstore products always have the best price and the best outcome. So, with that, make sure you know your skin type, and if the products you're using are for YOU.
7. Dab. NEVER RUB.
This applies to EVERYTHING in life. If you ever spill anything on your shirt, dab. If you spill anything on a carpet, dab. After you wash you face, dab. When people rub their face dry, that causes so much irritation and it's so harsh on the skin. Dab your face dry and be gentle. Everyone's skin is very delicate so the more gentle it is treated, the better the results.
8. Try Seeing a Dermatologist
If you really have tried everything you possibly could and you still can't get clear skin, just go to a professional. There job is to help you find exactly what you need to clear your skin and there is nobody better to tell you what to do. Make sure you do your research though. You want to look at reviews and ratings to make sure you're going to someone reliable.
9. Stop Worrying
Everybody has breakouts. I promise you, people won't notice your pimple unless you point it out. AND stressing causes even more pimples, so let that be your motivation not to stress about the one you have. Don't let it effect your day because one little pimple is not going to make you any less beautiful. Good Vibes Only Baby <3
